Metaphor Essay Draft

Metaphor Essay

My chosen writing project was our first one, it was all about metaphor and their importance. This was our first paper in class, so I was not the best at revising these papers quite yet. In the first draft, I completely forgot to put a header, a title, or page numbers. When doing peer reviews, this was pointed out to me, and I couldn’t believe I missed something so simple, but yet so obvious. Local revision found most of my issues in my writing. I often times have a bit of a rough time trying to find the right word choice to get the point across. For example, in the intro paragraph, there was a sentence in the rough draft that read “If you see from the perspective of the person who is telling you, you will see a bias opinion.” This is kind of a confusing sentence and the wording doesn’t make much sense, but in the final draft, I changed the sentence to “If you are given information by a friend, you will see it from the bias of the friend, not your own individual idea”. This wording adds another little touch to make the entire sentence make more sense as a whole. Also, often times i put too many commas in my paper, creating a lot of run on sentences. Although local revision was the majority of my issues, I also had some global revision issues that needed fixing. Most of the global revision that i have done throughout the year is just moving a sentence or two from one paragraph to another, or adding an entirely new paragraph somewhere to add more clarity. In this paper, I added an entire new paragraph after the into as a better transition to the paper.
